How to Use
To broadcast a message to ntuee class 76-104, send email to:
ntuee@alumni.ntu.edu.tw
To broadcast a message to ntuee classXXXX, send email to
ntueeXXXX@alumni.ntu.edu.tw
where XXXX is the graduation year from ntuee undergraduate.
For example, if your graduated from ntuee with a BS in 1983,
then you are in class ntuee1983@alumni.ntu.edu.tw
The following is the consensus for NTUEE Alumni Email System.
It was voted in January 1992 by classes on
ntueeus@tilden.stanford.edu.
1. A filter is installed on ntuee alumni email system which will
check whether the "Subject" line has the following format:
Subject:[NTUEE]-{type}-{subject}
where {type} is any user defined keyword to classify the mail.
For example: Job, Politics, Social, Economics, Announcement,
Visiting, Academic, Technology, Miscellaneous, ...
{subject} is the appropriate subject for this email.
2. If an email does not have the format, it will be returned
with a copy of this consensus appended.
3. All mails following this format will be broadcasted to each class immediately.
4. It is strongly recommended for each individual not to post more than one political email within 24 hours.
5. It is recommended to send the comments to a mail to the sender only.
(Note: If you want your comments to be sent to all netters,
you should have the following format in your Subject line:
Subject:Re:[NTUEE]-{type}-{subject}
The permanent address of ntuee alumni email system is as follows.
To all alumni (currently class 76-now): ntuee@alumni.ntu.edu.tw
To class XXXX: ntueeXXXX@alumni.ntu.edu.tw
Besides the permanent alias, a class may have a floating alias.
For example, class 84 has ntuee84@cs.sunysb.edu as its floating
alias. Email sent to ntuee1984@alumni.ntu.edu.tw will be forwarded to each class alias. Email sent to a permanent class alias will be forwarded to its floating alias and then broadcasted to its members.
When you change your email address, the only thing you need to do is sending the change to your class alias: ntueeXXXX@alumni.ntu.edu.tw or directly to the maintainer of your class. The maintainer of your class will then modify your email address. Send your update to the maintainer of ntuee alumni email system only if you graduated
from NTUEE with a degree other than BS or you are in a class before 76.
Each class has a maintainer who is responsible for maintaining
the email list of his/her class and serves as a class representative
in the NTUEE Alumni Email System Maintenance Committee.
